SYSTEM OF RICE INTENSIFICATION
My work with SRI
For the past 10 years I have been working with the System of Rice Intensification (SRI), an agro-ecological and climate-smart methodology for increasing rice productivity. For the first 3 years, I worked directly with farmers in Mali, and for past 7 years I am based at Cornell University, working at advancing the knowledge and the application of SRI at the global level, with a focus on West Africa.

At Cornell University, I started up and led the SRI International Network and Resources Center (SRI-Rice) for 6 years (2010-2016), and run a new program Climate-Resilient Farming Systems since 2017.

Improving and Scaling up SRI in West Africa: I was the technical lead in the regional coordination team for this 3-year project, funded by the World Bank under the auspices of CORAF/WECARD and coordinated by CNS/Riz in Mali. We worked with 13 countries and reached 50,000 SRI farmers by the end the project in 2016. https://sriwestafrica.org
